Anti-aging diet: look better with Perricone
With an anti-aging diet by Dr. med. Perricone reduces wrinkles while releasing excess pounds. The method, which knows good and bad foods, is all about reducing sugar intake.
Sugar makes the skin stiff
Dr. Perricone, who invented the anti-aging diet named after him, sees sugar as the main cause of facial wrinkles. The sugar molecules, according to the thesis, make a connection with the collagen fibers of the skin and make them stiff. The decreasing flexibility of the fibers ultimately leads to wrinkles. According to Perricone, in the context of the anti-aging diet, it must therefore be about supplying the body with as few sugar molecules as possible.
Good and bad foods
Perricone’s anti-aging diet includes clear recommendations on what foods to avoid and which foods to consume. Soybean sprouts, spinach, cabbage, salmon, herring, eggs, milk, apples and avocados are especially recommended. Dr. Perricone also recommends poultry, garlic, fennel, green tea and water.
One of the bad foods is medicine, pizza, white bread, white rice and dried fruit. You should also refrain from coffee, oranges and carrots as part of the anti-aging diet. In general, the glycemic index can serve as a guide. The higher the value for a food, the less you should consume.
Advantages and disadvantages of the anti-aging diet
If you want to reduce your weight first and foremost, you can get good results with the anti-aging diet in a relatively short time. However, if the main goal is to alleviate wrinkles, it will require a fundamental change in dietary habits. The Perricone diet is only suitable for fish lovers who have enough time for the sometimes elaborate meal preparation.
For many working people, the effort is a major obstacle. One of the benefits is that you do not have to starve or even count calories in your anti-aging diet. They abstain from eating unhealthy fats and instead eat more healthy fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
